-Signing in anchors (letters: Gg, Qq, Oo)

-Review our general rules:
We will use watching eyes, listening ears, kind words, gentle touches, and walking feet
-Practice breathing strategies (balloon, pretzel, S.T.A.R, drain, bunny breathing, breathing arms)
-We have continued to learn about solving our conflicts in a calm way by using our class time machine.
-New Sight Words: see, me
We will review I, can, am, like, on, and the from previous weeks and start writing the words in elkonin boxes

-We will also review the 3 Ways to Read a Book and practice:

*We locate capital letters, punctuation, rhyming words, sight words, and match sight words/letters.
We will continue to practice rotating using our literacy folders. This week, the kiddos will receive their book bags! I know they are all excited, and so am I!!!
– (Continue_Recalling sight words from books Frog Food and My Home. Then writing about something they like. Example: I like sprinkles on my cupcake.
-Continue writing using environmental print
-Apple writing using positional words. Example: The apple is on the tree.
*We also focus on fundamentals such as starting sentences with a capital letter, finger spacing between words, puntuation, etc..
Writing Anchors: What Gets a Capital?
This past week we learned and practiced what to do when anger gets ahold of us. This week, we will make a class book called, It Bugs Me When ________! and play the game that goes with it. The kiddos will sing the songs, Anger Got ahold of You and Sadness Got ahold of You. Lastly, we will review stratgies that help us when we are having a very strong emotion and complete an activity called: From Hurtful Words to Helpful Words.
-Calendar, months of the year, days of the week, counting forward/backwards and by tens, 1 more/1 less, days in school
*We will continue to practice hand signals and use number talk vocabulary

-Begin The Counting Jar (counting items in a jar in 2 different ways and then creating that quantity using other items)

Introducing Gg, Qq and Oo and teacing the appropriate strokes to create the letters. We will also continue to work on proper grip using a pencil.
Make Apple STEM boats to see if they sink or float/Apple Volcano
