*We locate capital letters, punctuation, rhyming words, sight words, and match sight words/letters.
We will practice all of the centers we learned last week and introduce: Art: Pete the Cat craft, Science/Sensory: Hidden Name Art/Finding letters in the sand, Technology: Symbaloo, starfall, ipads etc., and Writing: Kindergarten Friends Class Book
-Writing with environmental print that was brought in.

*We also focus on fundamentals such as starting sentences with a capital letter, finger spacing between words, puntuation, etc..
Last week, our class met the feeling buddies Sad and Happy. This week, they will meet Calm, Disappointed, Anxious and Frustrated. These lessons focus on what our faces look like when we might be feeling certain ways. We also build a connection by sharing a time when we might have felt that emotion. Lastly, we discuss ways to help us calm, such as using breathing strategies and other things like sensory bottles.
-Calendar, months of the year, days of the week, counting forward/backwards and by tens, 1 more/1 less, days in school
Five Frame Cards
*We will continue to practice hand signals and use number talk vocabulary
-Read Ten Apples Up On Top and complete a craft with apples on our head (after rolling a die)
-Read The Shape of Things and create a picture using pattern blocks. Then, we will transfer our creation onto paper using di-cut shapes.
-Create a class book called: A Shape is Just a Shape
-Continue exploring Manipulatives
Writer’s Workshop/Social Studies:
-Make a feeling face and write I am ______ (feeling emotion: happy, sad, angry or scared).
-How I Put Myself Together Class Book (what breathing/calming strategy will you use?)
-Share Student of the Week and Class Mascot
Introducing Ii, Jj, Kk, and Ll and the appropriate strokes to create the letters. We will also continue to work on proper grip using a pencil.
