Week 28 Pictures :)

We completed our Walking Water experiment! We had to do it twice! Once, we started it too late in the day, and were unable to see results. So, the next time we decided to start it first thing in the morning! It still took 2 days! We realized that the paper towels we used were very sturdy and strong, which didn’t allow the water to move as quickly. We also realized the lines on our paper towels were horizontal instead of vertical which also slowed it down! Overall, this was an AWESOME experiment and it was neat to see the change!

Twinkies for picture day!

We have been learning about Fairytales! This week we read different versions of Little Red Riding Hood. This is the kiddos acting out the story using props! They had a lot of fun retelling the story this way!

Graphing with JELLY BEANS! This was super fun and YUMMY!

Building CVC words using Easter eggs! The kiddos had to crack open an egg, find a picture and use the cut apart letters to create the word. Finally, they had to write the word correctly using elkonin boxes.

Parts of a Plant-we’ve been studying the parts of a plant and learning about its life cycle. This next week, we will be planting lima, pinto and black beans in jars!

Math!

Number Talk- You would be amazed at how deep the minds of 5 and 6 year olds can go thinking about numbers!

Guess My Number Game! The kiddos picked a teen number, showed the class, then drew the number on a students back. The kiddo had to guess what teen number was drawn on his/her back! This was so fun and engaging!

sorting coins

Every time the kids walk in our classroom, they have to read a sight word, number, or shape. This week, I had written sight words on bees. As the kiddos read the word they got to SWAT the bee with a fly swatter! 🙂
